  A Message from the Old Lyme Fire Department Fire Chief

As Fire Chief, I would like to be the first to welcome you to the Old Lyme Fire Department web site. We hope you enjoy your visit.

We at the Old Lyme Volunteer Fire Department are pleased to be able to share an overview of our organization with you. We provide a broad spectrum of both emergency and non-emergency services to the citizens and visitors of our community. We are a 100% volunteer organization.

The Old Lyme Fire Department is a unique organization that strives to anticipate the needs of the citizens, and has a long tradition of providing high quality fire, rescue services to this community. We take pride in the delivery of fire protection, fire control and fire prevention services with a genuine commitment to those we serve. These services are provided by highly trained and motivated staff of volunteer fire professionals.

As the Fire Chief, it is my honor and privilege to work side-by-side with the men and women of the Old Lyme Fire Department. Through their time and talents, their dedication to duty, dignity in their work and their commitment, they provide the utmost quality of service to our community.    


Our three stations currently operates 3 pumpers, aerial ladder, 2 tankers and heavy duty rescue. We also operate 2 brush units, command/chief vehicle, Marine Boat, and 2 Zodiaks. This fleet assists with calls throughout all of Old Lyme as well as mutual aid to all of our neighboring towns.

I am extremely proud of this department and invite you to take a few minutes to go over our site to learn more about our people, programs and accomplishments. Our doors are always open and invite you to stop by for a tour or if you just have a question.
